Kelly Bradshaw & Carmen Dunham are the dynamic duo behind Protea (pronounced PRO-tee-uh). After a chance rendezvous in their favorite cabinet of curiosities shop, the graduates of Apparel Arts decided to join forces. The quirky pair left behind their former lives in business consulting and forensic anthropology to create Protea, a brand inspired by the curiously beautiful.
The designers are trained in both draping and French pattern making methods and often combine the two for a refreshingly modern effect. In their San Francisco studio, Kelly and Carmen design each garment for their customers to treasure for years to come. Their locally produced collection is made in limited quantities by a team of seamstresses who take great pride in their work. |
